The resort
Montchavin and Les Coches, two linked villages
Montchavin, a Savoyard village at 1,250 m, and Les Coches just above it are linked by the slopes and open onto La Plagne and the whole of Paradiski. See ski hire in Montchavin or ski hire in Les Coches.
Why MLC
Local people, a trusted network
Montchavin Sport MLC is Sam Rochet, a former junior world champion in mogul skiing, Géraldine and their team. For over 25 years they’ve been kitting out skiers in Montchavin and Les Coches, season after season. They know the resort, its runs and its snow, and they know which skis suit a nervous five-year-old as well as a parent keen to tick off the reds.
Our 4 shops trade under the Ski Republic name: you book online through a well-established national website, then a local team takes the time to get your kit right. Everything is serviced in our workshop, and boots are dried and disinfected after every hire.
Our equipped shops have a 3D foot scanner so your boots fit properly. And if anything isn’t right mid-week, one of our shops is never far away, so we can sort it on the spot without costing you a day on the slopes. Our story
Where can I hire skis in Montchavin-Les Coches?
We run 4 Ski Republic shops: Les 3 Glaciers and Village in Montchavin, Centre and Wengen in Les Coches. The easiest choice is the one between your accommodation and the lifts. Full details are on our shops page.
Do I need to book my ski hire in advance?
It isn’t compulsory, but we recommend it, especially during the school holidays. Book online on ski-republic.com and your kit is reserved under your name, and discounts are often available. Here’s how booking works.
When are the shops open?
Our shops follow the resort’s season, usually from mid-December to late April. Last season they were open from 12 December to 24 April. Each shop’s opening hours are on its own page.
Can I swap my skis during my stay?
Yes. Ski Republic offers a Flexski option that lets you change kit during your stay; the terms are shown when you book. If something doesn’t feel right, just come back to the shop and we’ll find a solution.
Do you speak English?
Yes. Every winter we welcome lots of British and international guests, and our teams give advice in English as well as French. You’re already on the English version of our site.
